CVAS Thrift
Stores

The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter operates two
Thrift Stores, one in Chambersburg at 70 S. Main St., and one in
Shippensburg at 1 E. King St. Our thrift stores provide substantial,
needed income every month to help maintain the daily operations of the
shelter. Anyone who shops at or donates to our thrift stores will be
directly affecting the lives of homeless animals.
Both stores offer a wide variety of merchandise at incredibly reasonable
prices. Our thrift stores include men’s, women’s and children’s clothing
that are clean, folded and free of stains and damage; shoes, handbags,
hats, gloves, jewelry and books; household supplies like dishes,
cookware, utensils, small appliances, bedding, lamps and rugs;
collectibles, collections and antiques; decorating items like mirrors,
pictures, paintings, flower arrangements, knickknacks; and even
furniture.

Donations of merchandise for the thrift stores are welcome, but staff
ask that they be dropped off during business hours, which are from 9
a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Saturday
at the stores. Anyone interested in donating furniture is asked to make
an appointment and no food items are accepted. Thrift store staff ask
that donated items be in good condition and in working order. Items
should not be left behind either building when the store is closed.
Note: Our Chambersburg
store needs a vacuum cleaner and children's plastic hangers. We also
could use donations of Yankee Candles for the candle warmers to
make the store smell nice.
Please contact the thrift stores with any questions you might have about
donation drop off.
