HELP CVAS FIND THE OWNER OF THESE BOXERS

kiaOn the morning of Wednesday, March 21, staff arrived at CVAS to find two dogs in our outside lamardog run. They were boxers, one female who is brindle with white and one male who is fawn with white. Staff brought them in and gave them distemper and bordetella vaccinations and treated them for fleas. The following day they were started on Panacur and had a SNAP 4Dx test (both tested negative). Both dogs had flystrike on their ears (which are the physcial manifestation of parasitic fly larvae feeding off them) and had fleas.

We named the female Kia (left). After a day of settling in, we took her outside for some fresh air and found that all her teeth have been worn down and she has a few molars missing. We are just guessing she is between 2-3 years old. On March 21, she weighed in at 59 pounds. She has pressure sores on all for legs and on her rump and has an unnatural gait that could be conformational issues/deformities but would need X-rays to know for sure.

We named the male Lamar (right). He is smaller than Kia and his teeth are not as bad, so we are guessing he is younger than Kia, approximately a year old. On March 21, he weighed in at 39 pounds.

THESE DOGS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION YET AND CANNOT BE SEEN AT THIS TIME.
