CVAS says THANKS to everyone who helps make lives better for homeless pets!!

CVAS says a HUGE THANK YOU to Corpus Christi School in Chambersburg for collecting monetary donations for the shelter and raising $1,605.29!!!

When 7-year-old Megan Pomeroy decided she wanted to help homeless pets, she set out to raise some funds for CVAS.

"I found some pretty stones around my house and sold them," Megan explained.

She and her sister, Eileen, who is 6, brought the money into the animal shelter and posed for a picture with a kitten.

When asked why she decided to do this, Megan explained, "The cats were very pretty the first time I came here and I wanted to help."

The sisters live in Shippensburg and attend Grace Baylor Elementary School, where Megan is in first grade and Eileen is in kindergarten.

Their parents, George and Jennifer Pomeroy, are clearly quite proud of their daughters.

The Pomeroys obviously love animals, they have two cats named Bei Bei and Bao Bao, as well as three fish.

CVAS thanks these young fundraisers for their help and devotion to animals!!

When Sara Beth Winegardner of McConnellsburg turned 11 on April 28, instead of presents for herself, she asked her friends to bring gifts for CVAS. The girls delivered their gifts, which included cat food, treats, and toys, and were able to spend some time getting to know some of the pets at the shelter.

Pictured above are from left, Jamie Caldwell, executive director for CVAS, Brittany, Sara Beth (holding a sweet cat named Vinnie), Jessica, and Katelyn.  Not pictured:  Grace.

CVAS says thank you to a very special animal-lover and wishes her a very happy birthday!!

F&M Trust took donations for CVAS at this year's Ice Fest and we couldn't be more please that they were able to raise more than $500 for us. Thanks to everyone who helped make this impromptu fundraiser so successful!!

McConnellsburg Elementary School helps out CVAS. The fourth-graders have a supply drive every year around the holidays for our homeless pets. They always provide piles and piles of much needed food, toys, treats and cleaners.

And this year, the fifth-graders at McConnellsburg Elementary also helped out with their own supply drive.

Staff and animals at CVAS say thank you all so much!!

*******************************************************************

The fourth grade at James Burd Elementary School in Shippensburg also donated items to CVAS to help homeless pets. We all say "thank fourth grade!!"
