A COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER... Hi folks, this is Jennifer and I'm the Director of Communications with CVAS and we've already had quite an eventful 2007. Since mid-January, CVAS has been involved in a rescue operation the likes of which I've never dealt with in the five years I've been with this shelter. We rescued 63 dogs from unacceptable living conditions and from day one, it's safe to say emotions of the staff were running high. How would we deal with 63 dogs when we already had 38 in the kennels? Our "comfort level" with dogs is 35 so we were already a bit more than full, what in the world would we do with 63 more? I'm so happy and proud to say that with the dedicated efforts of the staff, community and rescue groups, we were able to find these animals good, loving homes. To give you an idea of what we were facing, take a look at just one of the before and after shots....
HIGGINS (before and after) I often feel like "thank you" is just two little words and in many situations it never feels adequate enough to express the appreciation I have. This is definitely one of those moments. This was such a touching, poignant effort of everyone involved that I just don't feel like a simple thank you can really do it justice. I hope everyone who helped, donated money and supplies, adopted and got these dogs into homes knows the sincerity behind those two simple words: THANK YOU. The bottom line is that without you all, we couldn't have helped these sweet babies. From the moment the first dog came into the shelter, our focus has been on the pups and getting them healthy and into forever homes. Our supporters made that possible. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.
